Christian Smith’s Troniclabel enjoyed a fantastic year in 2011; persistently receiving plaudits fromthe media, scene taste-makers and the record buying public for the labelsconsistently first-rate output that consisted of a genre-blurring mixture oftech house and progressive flavored techno floor-smashing grooves.
Christian Smith's own tracks sound-tracked the whole of 2011. Releases and remixes for 100% Pure, Bedrock andMistakes have ruled the charts, whilst his reworks of classics including FunkD'Void's "Diabla" and Underworld's "Dark & Long," and RichieHawtin's Robotman track, "Do Da Do", havewowed the masses.
Indeed, Christian's remix of "Do Da Do" was the inspiration behind the making of "Get It Done", as while hunting out original samples due to a lack of parts, Christian foundinspiration from an unused section of one of the stems. "I actually made"Get It Done" with Plastikman in mind, as I wanted to make something less melodic and much more full on"says Christian, and it is this fusion of low slung bass and firing percussion that shows Smith's more underground side with its sultry, minimizedtech house feel.
Christian Smith - Get It Done is released on Tronic on 2nd Jan 2012 via 12" + Digital.
