Originally established as a channel for more alternative material, Adam Beyer’s Truesoul label continues to provide a deeper, left-of-centre alternative to the Swede’s more functional Drumcode output with recent releases such as Joel Mull’s beautifully elegant ‘Sensory’ album, Maetrik’s chart-topping ‘The Entity, Adam Beyer’s Diana Ross (!) sampling ‘No Rain’ and Patrick Siech and Gustav Sollscher’s sonically diverse ‘The Watch Receiver’ EP setting the tone for what is to come as Truesoul continue their push to become one of the go-to labels for fans of deeper techno and edgy tech house in 2012.
The next chapter in Truesoul’s evolving story comes from Marc Antona. With discography highlights that include releases for Mobilee, Highgrade, Micro-Fibers and, most recently, his own Dissonant label, Antona is an already familiar name to followers of quality tech-house and the deeper, groovier side of techno. Impressive career credentials that have been galvanized by Marc’s appearances for Cadenza as part of their Vagabundos tours. With such experience behind the Ibiza-based producer, it comes as no surprise that this EP brings the kind of sunshine sensuality to Truesoul that has come to characterize the soundtrack of dance music’s Mecca with the sultry percussion and understated funk of ‘Gloves Off’ or the perpetual bass groove and twitching rhythm of ‘Darwin’s Corner Stone’.
Marc Antona - Darwin EP is released 16th April 2012 on Truesoul via vinyl and digital
